Life Sciences and Environmental Sciences for Schools in the region: |
Amdon partners schools worldwide to teach life sciences and environmental sciences as part of their core curriculum.
|
- Our Life Sciences programmes have been accredited by the Thailand Ministry of Education for credit point exemption in International Schools in 2003.
- Based on comprehensive feedback forms filled by the students, more than 90% students recommend the programs to their juniors and mention that they have gained substantially from their respective programs.
- We are helping leading schools in the region establish centers of biotech learning (for in-house projects) to help schools achieve self-sufficiency in developing teaching and research laboratories and other infrastructure.
- We have track record partnering statutory environmental agencies in Singapore to promote environmental awareness in students.
- Since 2004, Amdon has pioneered Environmental Sciences modules in Nanyang Girls’ High School (for more than 300 students) and more than 200 students from three other schools and junior colleges, incorporating Inquiry-based learning with great success (featured in The Straits Times (18th May 2005) and Lianhe Zaobao (Singapore Mandarin Newspapers, 24th May 2005).
- In September 2004, Amdon launched i-ClubTM, a Life Sciences Enrichment and Science Tutorial programme for the region. i-Club leverages on its state-of-the-art i-Board® method of instruction of Amdon’s unique inquiry-based learning approach to teaching science and technology to primary school students

| Why our teaching formula works |
It consists of a strong team of highly trained and skilled individuals who have the capabilities ranging from cartoon drawing, publishing, arts, web & multimedia designing to specialists in life sciences and biotechnology.
- Amdon has a collection of over 100 environmental sciences and biotech programs in the areas of genetics & genetic engineering, cell biology, natural product chemistry, microbiology, agricultural biotechnology, forensic biotechnology, environmental biotechnology and food biotechnology. Newer additions include areas in animal biotechnology, structural biology, drug development and bioinformatics.
- Amdon has also pioneered a novel method of instruction using the Interactive Whiteboard (I-Board®) to teach seemingly complex concepts in science and mathematics.
- Programs are developed separately to impart concepts in a simple and fun-filled manner to students, parents, corporate executives and laymen.
- Most programs are developed in response to the impending changes in the science syllabi worldwide. This has three benefits:
- these programs are directly relevant to the exams, a major concern to the schools
- the programs can be used to replace classroom teaching during school hours, hence it readily becomes part of the school’s ongoing programs
- the programs bring a concise yet fun-filled way of teaching for a short duration to actively excite the students
- Amdon’s programs are implemented assuming the school has neither the infrastructure nor trained staff. Hence, the programs require only an empty practical room with benches and sinks. However, since every school has a different requirement and a different perspective on its education, we work very closely with each client school to customize the programs
